Course Description

The goal of this workshop is to provide participants with a foundational knowledge of the immigration process and immigration relief for victims of intimate partner violence, an overview of mental health issues commonly experienced by children of mixed status families, and recommendations for conducting culturally competent assessments in custody proceedings.

Mariela Shibley, PsyD

Dr. Shibley received her professional training from the University of California, Los Angeles, and the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, San Diego. She completed post-doctoral training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center (SDPC) and at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, and is currently a candidate in SDPC's adult psychoanalytic program.
