Course Description

This course provides an overview of the concept of personality theory and related research methods, including the Freudian and other Psychoanalytic approaches, the Trait approach, the Biological approach, the Humanistic approach, the Behavioral/Social Learning approach, and the Cognitive approach. Upon completion, students should be able to distinguish and understand the different approaches to personality theory.

Are there any advantages to taking these courses through Alliant?

Yes, there are several advantages to taking these courses through Alliant’s CE Division:

  • The instructors have been designated by Alliant program directors. They are very familiar with our programs and know what is needed to prepare you properly.
  • The courses will be accepted by Alliant as meeting the academic prerequisites for admission.
  • You will receive an academic transcript showing your grade, and we will also report your enrollment in and completion of the course directly to your campus Admissions Office. (Reminder: Entry requirements for the Clinical Psychology programs state that you must receive a grade of “C” or better; entry requirements for the Organizational Psychology programs state that you must receive a grade “B” or better.)

What is the format of the courses?

The courses are offered online as Guided Independent Study. All course material will be online.

How can I get help from the instructor?

The instructors for each course will provide extensive online resources to support your learning. If you have questions, you will be able to contact the instructor by email and all emails will be answered within 48 hours.

Refunds for online courses are only granted to those who have not logged in to the course. Should you need to withdraw or cancel your enrollment, you are eligible to receive a full refund if you notify ce@alliant.edu withing 48 hours of registration.

Hadas Pade, PsyD

Dr. Hadas Pade received a Masters in Forensic Psychology from CUNY and a Clinical PsyD from CSPP Alameda.

Her main areas of interest include working with children and families, behavior disorders and parenting, psychological testing and assessment, forensic psychology, early intervention, supervision and teaching.

She is an Assistant Professor at CSPP Alliant International University SF campus as well as Co-Director of the Assessment Clinic on campus. She also conduct psychological evaluations for Juvenile Probation as well as Law Enforcement evaluations.
